One thing I have found to be very motivating for the students is that they love to monitor their own progress. I have created my IEP and Me progress monitoring folders and have taught my students how to monitor their progress on MobyMax.
The students check their progress frequently and like to share with their classmates. They like to share the success that they are having with each other. This is always a good time for students to talk about what they are doing to improve their scores. It is nice to see the students motivate each other.
When you have a moment, ask your child about the progress they are making on their goals and/or on MobyMax. They can also show you their progress on MobyMax by clicking on the progress icon on their MobyMax homepage. Students can see their scores on past lessons. When students are showing you their scores, ask them what they did differently when to get different scores. This will help the students use their metacognition when evaluating their learning style and habits.
